The portion of the land that is largely in the flood plain is in the Conservation Reserve Enhanced Program (CREP), with a perpetual Conservation Easement granted to the Schuyler County Soil and Water Conservation District. The conservation plan includes reforestation of hardwoods on higher elevation in the flood plain, with natural wildlife habitat regeneration on the lower elevations.
